KP Services (Jersey) Limited will print the Jersey Evening Post as well as the majority of U.K. national newspapers for distribution in both Jersey and Guernsey. This will allow the Islands to avoid the frequent delays associated with flying the newspapers in on the day of publication.
The publications will be printed on two Kodak Prosper 6000P presses which are powered by an advanced Intelligent Print System (IPS) that continuously monitors, evaluates and adjusts operations to ensure exceptional quality output. This means that the presses can monitor and instantly correct colour registration, delivering enhanced registration performance. The presses were designed specifically for publishing applications such as newspapers and books and are ideally suited for printing a large number of low-volume titles.
KP Services (Jersey) Limited will also use four of the Hunkeler Combi-Solution Newspaper finishing lines, which allow for fully-automated changeover between Tabloid and Broadsheet formats as well as the automated collation of multiple sections. Every newspaper going through the folding and collating sub-system can have a different number of pages with a maximum page count of 140 Tabloid pages per newspaper.
This next generation digital printing technology will become a centre for excellence, used to demonstrate the value of the Kodak Prosper 6000P presses to customers around the world.
